Installation Options

Hand-Held Wind Speed Indicators

For instantaneous wind speed readings, where you need them, when

you need them. Rugged, high-impact plastic with corrosion-resistant

components, protective vinyl case, and attached wrist lanyard.

Wind Wizard

™

Reads wind speed in miles/hour, meters/sec-

ond, and Beaufort. Readout dial is supported

on sapphire jewel bearings and steadied by a

rare-earth magnetic dampening system.

Folding handle quickly and securely latches

into place. No batteries needed. Dimensions:

Turbo Meter

feet/minute, or meters/second. Turbine sus-

Surge Protector

For upgraded protection against lightning-induced power

surges, power-cross conditions, and ground potential

rises, use Surge Protectors with any of our cabled weather

stations. For installation on cable runs between:

• Sensor and junction box or sensor interface module.

• Console and junction box or sensor interface module.

Use one surge protector for every two wires. See the chart below to

determine the number of surge protectors needed for your installation.

Stripping of wires is required. For additional protection options, see

our Protected Junction Box (page 11) and Link Isolator Kit (page 13).

Grounding Kit

When suitable ground is not available, use our Grounding Kit

8"-diameter (81 cm × 16 mm) copper-clad
